A comprehensive guide to pet insurance.

Pet insurance can make all the difference if a pet falls ill or suffers an injury. Here we look at how pet insurance works and how to find the right cover at the right price. Read our guide to find out more

Surrendering Your Animal

We will consider whether or not we are able to take your small animal in for rehoming on a case by case basis. We cannot guarantee that we will have the space or resources to take in your small animal. Camp Nibble is run on a purely voluntary basis and we rely entirely on public donations to continue to help animals in need. If we are full we may give you the option of placing your pet onto one of our waiting lists.

We understand that there are a variety of reasons why people cannot continue to care for their pets. We will not pass judgement on you. However, if you are financially able to care for your pet and are surrendering them because the novelty has worn off please consider that a lot of time, effort and money goes into running a rescue and that there are already thousands of abandoned animals competing for the resources available from the various small animal rescues in the UK.

Please consider assisting us in our work by offering a donation to help towards the many costs associated with running a rescue shelter. In the case of rabbits you can help us greatly by ensuring that your pet is neutered and vaccinated. This is a requirement before we can find a new home for a rabbit. Each rabbit that is surrendered to us unvaccinated and unneutered costs us around £75 immediately in vet’s fees.

Camp Nibble has been established to help small animals in genuine need. We understand that sometimes people would prefer a rescue shelter to re-home their pet for them as rescue shelters are experienced in finding good quality homes. If you would like to use a rescue shelter in this way to re-home an unwanted pet. Please consider offering a donation for this service. A lot of time, effort and money goes into responsibly re-homing each animal.

In genuine cases where you are unable to continue caring for your animal we will do all that we can to help you and your animal.

We will consider taking in the following small animals for rehoming:
  • Rabbits
  • Guinea pigs
  • Hamsters
  • Rats
  • Gerbils
  • Degus
  • Chinchillas
  • Other small rodents
  • Some bird species
  • Some tortoise/turtle species

We are not able to consider taking in all types of animals. Please do not contact us regarding any of the types of animals listed below as I am afraid that we will not be able to help you. We are unable to rehome:
  • Dogs
  • Cats
  • Ferrets
  • Snakes
  • Reptiles
  • Any wild animal species

If you would like us to consider taking your animal in for rehoming please complete our small animal surrender form (It is appreciated if you can please complete this form before contacting us via telephone).
